Privacy Policy
We respect your privacy. Here's what we collect, why, and how you can control it.
LAST UPDATED — JUNE 1, 2026
What we collect
Props4U collects only the information necessary to operate this site and improve your experience. We collect information in two ways: directly (when you voluntarily provide it) and automatically (through standard web analytics).
- Contact & newsletter forms — when you submit a form we collect your name and email address. This is the only time we collect personally identifiable information.
- Analytics data — we automatically collect IP address (truncated), device type, browser, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, and time on page. This data is aggregated and not linked to you individually.
- Cookies & session data — small files placed in your browser to keep the site functional and measure aggregate traffic. See Section 3 for details.
- Messages & feedback — if you use any site tools, chatbots, or feedback widgets, the content of those messages may be stored to respond to your inquiry or improve the service.
We do not collect payment information, government IDs, or sensitive financial data of any kind. Props4U is an informational comparison site, not a financial services provider.
How we use information
Information we collect is used solely to run Props4U and make it better. We never use your data for advertising targeting or sell it to brokers.
- Operate the site — authenticate sessions, display relevant content, and keep pages functional.
- Improve pages — understand which firm comparisons, deals, and articles are most useful so we can prioritize improvements.
- Respond to requests — reply to contact form submissions, answer questions, or provide support.
- Email communications — if you opt into our newsletter, we send relevant updates about new firm reviews, deals, and promotions. You may unsubscribe at any time.
- Prevent fraud & abuse — detect and block automated scraping, spam submissions, or other misuse that could harm site performance or other users.
- Measure performance — track aggregate metrics like page load times, referral sources, and popular content to guide site development.
Cookies & tracking
Props4U uses a minimal set of cookies to keep the site working and to understand aggregate usage patterns. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.
- Essential session cookies — required for basic site functionality such as preserving your comparison selections or form state. These are first-party and expire at session end.
- Analytics cookies — we use one or more analytics providers (such as Google Analytics or a privacy-first alternative) to collect anonymised data on page views, traffic sources, and device types. IP addresses are truncated before storage. These cookies may persist for up to 24 months but contain no personally identifiable information.
- Preference cookies — we may store lightweight preferences (e.g. dismissed banners) in your browser's local storage. These never leave your device.
You can block or delete cookies at any time via your browser settings. Disabling analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use Props4U. For Google Analytics opt-out, visit tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Affiliate links & referrals
Props4U may earn a commission when you click certain links and sign up with a prop trading firm. This is how we keep the site free and the data current.
- Commissions don't change your price — affiliate relationships never inflate the cost of any firm's evaluation or subscription. The pricing you see is the same as going direct.
- Editorial independence — our rankings and reviews are based on independently researched criteria. Affiliate partnerships do not guarantee positive coverage.
- Link tracking — when you click an affiliate link, the destination firm may place their own tracking cookie in your browser per their privacy policy. We do not control this.
- Coupon codes — discount codes are independently verified where possible. Always check the official firm site for current terms, expiry dates, and eligibility. Codes and discounts are subject to change without notice.
In accordance with FTC guidelines, affiliate links are material connections and we disclose them. Our goal is accurate, unbiased information — affiliate income is secondary.
Sharing & disclosures
We do not sell your personal information as defined by applicable law — including the CCPA and similar statutes. We share data only in the limited circumstances below.
- Service providers — we share data with trusted vendors that help us run the site, including email delivery platforms, web hosting providers, and analytics services. These providers are contractually bound to use data only on our behalf and not for independent purposes.
- Legal compliance — we may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or legitimate governmental process, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, property, or safety.
- Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify affected users by email or prominent notice if this occurs.
- Aggregated or anonymised data — we may share non-personally-identifiable, aggregated statistics (e.g. "X% of visitors compare two specific firms") publicly or with partners without restriction.
Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected or to comply with applicable legal requirements.
- Email list — retained until you unsubscribe. After unsubscribing, your address is suppressed (not purged immediately, to prevent re-subscription errors) and removed from active sends within 10 business days.
- Contact form submissions — retained for up to 24 months to maintain a record of correspondence, then deleted or anonymised.
- Analytics data — retained in aggregate form for up to 26 months per our analytics provider's standard retention window. No persistent personal identifiers are stored beyond this period.
- Server logs — raw server logs containing IP addresses are automatically purged after 90 days.
